Exterior · Siding

Siding is the raincoat. The wall wrap is what keeps you dry.

We repair storm-damaged and rotted siding and re-side whole homes, with the window flashing and roof-to-wall details that most leaks start from.

Where roofs and walls meet

A lot of “roof leaks” are really wall leaks: water getting behind siding at a roof-to-wall joint, a window head or a missing kick-out flashing. Because we do both, we see the whole water path.

Siding work includes inspecting the sheathing and wall wrap behind it. If you have hidden rot, you’ll see photos before we replace anything.

Signs

When siding needs work

  • Cracked or holed panels

Usually hail or impact. Even small holes let water behind the wall.

  • Swollen or soft boards

Bottom edges near the ground or roof lines that swell or crumble indicate moisture.

  • Peeling paint inside

Paint bubbling on interior walls or around windows can be water coming through from outside.

  • Missing kick-out flashing

Where a roof edge ends against a wall, a small diverter keeps water out of the wall. Many homes don’t have one.

Questions

Siding: common questions

More answers on the full FAQ page.

Can you match my existing siding for a repair?

Often, especially for fiber cement and painted products. Vinyl colors fade and are discontinued, so we’ll show you the closest match before installing.

Can siding be replaced in phases?

Yes. Many homeowners do the most exposed elevations first. We’ll plan breaks at corners so the transition is clean.
